So, I wasn’t at summer madness today. I had to work in Tesco from 11 until 5, and had my friends 21st birthday party from 7 until about an hour ago. It was ‘super-wicked-awesome’ (just as it was advertised to be)!! Amazing food, great drinks, good friends… and Foy Vance. Can’t get much better than that! Was the first time I’d ever actually heard him perform live… and he was incredible! Guess what the next album I’m buying is gonna be… It was just a shame he couldn’t stay longer than he did. Performed an awesome set though, played a good few songs, and then had to rush off to another gig (which we made him late for, I have to admit… he told us, before playing his final 2 songs, that he should have left 5 minutes ago!). Also, ironically enough, the other gig was… Summer Madness! That amused me, I have to say. Got some cool photos of his performance, and a video or two. Will try and put a link to them here when I get them uploaded.

Two songs in particular really stood out to me tonight though – Gabriel and the Vagabond, and Indescriminate act of kindness – amazingly well written, lyrically and musically, and fantastically performed. Really told a story – they were awesome. You could really see Foy’s faith shining through… they got me thinking too, will maybe put a post up on them soon…

Anyway, time for sleep now – up early tomorrow for more summer madness fun! Will probably blog again next week, after I’m home again!

this was meant to go up last night…

My computer crashed last night as I was posting this… but seemingly wordpress do a nice little draft saving thing i wasnt aware of… so here is last nights post…

Went with George to a fancy dress party tonight… didn’t actually know anyone there but him, he’d been invited and asked me to go along with him. Turns out he only knew one or two people there anyway! It was awesome though, really genuinely nice people… was cool getting to know some new folk! Think I freaked a few of them out though, turning up as a ninja, complete with samurai sword… was interesting seeing their reactions!
