Random amusement… yet oddly appropriate…

I’m aware I haven’t posted in a while… It isn’t that there hasn’t been blogworthy news, quite the opposite in fact… it’s just that I’m not really sure what to say about it all…

There is, however, another post on the way. In the meantime though, this was todays edition of a webcomic I’m kinda partial to… I found it oddly relevant to my own life…

Now, as for me, is my body clock east or west of where I live???

I’m not sure how many of you will understand this… I’m sure a fair few of you will… But this post goes out exclusively to my good friend Connor (who, if you read this blog in any way often, you will have come across before…)

Run Fatboy Run…

I had been wary of it, a little, simply because David Schwimmer was directing it… but if I could see him, I would apologise for ever having doubted his directing ability! I was also quite excited about it, in my wariness, because it was another Simon Pegg movie (which of late have always been hillarious!) which starred Dylan Moran (funniest Irishman EVER!!)

Without wanting to spoil it for anyone who has yet to see it, the movie came with a LOT of laughs, and I HIGHLY recommend seeing it…

Still in a foy kinda mood…

Nerds, nerds, and killer birds…

Posted in friends, funny, randomness on August 17, 2007 by Phil Alcorn

Yea, it’s true, the title itself is pretty nerdy…

But I’m being a real nerd at the moment… I’ve configured my router to broadcast at a channel compatible with my new PSP so I can access the net from it… I ALMOST hate myself for how much of a nerd the past two years has made me… enabling wma playback and flash player over the net…

But this post is really about something cool that happened the other day… I say cool, because I found it cool, but everyone else may just have found it mediocre… but this is what happened anyway…
George and I were walking along the marina the other day, when George said “Look, those birds are fighting!”
“Where?”
“Over there…”
I looked up, and sure enough, flying among the masts of the boats were two birds, right on top of one another. They circled for a while, right on top of one another, when I noticed the bird on the bottom was actually in the clutches of the bird above…
“Hey man, thats a Falcon!” I said…
It flew away, circling wide, and came to hover literally just a few metres above us… The falcon was clutching what appeared to be a pigeon in it’s talons, feathers being viciously shaken from it’s limp body at random intervals…
What was really interesting though, is that the Falcon’s attack on the pigeon seemed to have done something to really piss off all the seagulls flying nearby. They flocked over en-masse, and began swooping and pecking at the Falcon as it continued to shake feathers from the pigeon… This continued for about one minute, before the Falcon seemed to decide enough was enough, and flew off towards the centre of town, still clutching it’s prize…

Next week on Wildlife On One, we look at the plight of the sewer rat…
